Thermal Drone Inspection Services

What is the benefit of having your roof inspected deploying a drone with high resolution thermal and visible imagers to preform infrared roof scans?

  1. Time – less time spent on roof

  2. Safety- steep roofs or commercial roofs with hard to access areas

  3. Preventative maintenance – discover moisture not yet visible on the surface

  4. An overview of entire roof with thermal imagery helps us to determine the extent of damage and determine if a repair or full replacement is best.

For your home- A drone’s thermal camera can provide completely accurate moisture detection, property measurement, and energy inefficiency identification.  Wet areas on a roof will retain heat longer than dry areas.  Once the sun goes down and a roof begins to cool, thermal imagery detects the temperature differences and helps inspectors to pinpoint areas of concern or “hot spots”  which may be areas of poor insulation   So whether in the cold winter months when looking for heat to escape a roof or in the hot summer months when looking for cool air to escape a drone with thermal imagery can easily pin point the area of concern and help to determine if a repair or full replacement would be best.  If your roof is steep it can be dangerous for our estimators to walk the roof, thus a drone inspection helps keep our guys safely on the ground while providing them with a complete and complex over view including  high definition pictures and thermal imaging of your roof. You are then able to view these images once we have compiled a detailed report for you including all of your options so you as a homeowner can make an informed decision on what will be the best option for you.

For your Commercial roof inspections utilizing thermal imaging drones can solve two major problems.  First, they identify previously unseen damage to roofs, mechanical elements, piping and other infrastructure unapparent in traditionally or infrequent manual inspections.  Uncover minor issues before they can turn into highly- costly, impactful problems. Secondly, they provide fast and safe inspections. Thermal imagery allows us to see what is happening under the roof membrane.  The last thing you want is to trap moisture into your roof system.  Using drone powered thermal imagery we can see if there is moisture under the membrane and make the best decision on how to proceed with your roofing project.  “Accuracy counts when millions of dollars of property and facilities are at risk”

Whether you have a commercial or residential property what you can expect with a thermal imagery drone inspection:

  • A licensed and insured pilot/flight – FAA documented / each flight is insured

  • The estimator and pilot will create the flight plan on an ap. This can be done on site or in office by specifying the address of the building, and then defining the perimeter of the roof.

  • Once the plan is ready and the pilot confirms that everything is in order, they will use the controller to launch ad control the drone.

  • The drone automatically follows the flight path while gathering images and collecting any other information depending on the sensors and intention of the inspection.

  • Within 10 or so minutes the drone with automatically land according to the program and will also transfer the date for our estimators to review.

  • Once back in the office our estimator and drone pilot will compile a comprehensive report for your review.
