Powerwall Integration

Add a Powerwall to your solar energy system to get the most out of your solar power. A Powerwall is a battery that stores extra energy from your solar panels so you can use it when the sun isn’t shining.

Why Choose a Powerwall?

Energy Independence: Use stored solar energy at night or on cloudy days instead of relying on the grid.

Backup Power: Keep your home powered during outages, so important appliances stay on.

Save Money: Use stored power during peak times when electricity is more expensive.

Easy Integration: Our team will seamlessly connect your Powerwall to your solar roof, creating a simple and efficient energy system for your home.

With a Powerwall, you can control your energy usage better, keep your home running during power outages, and help the environment by using more solar energy. It's a smart way to make the most of your solar power system.

Tesla Solar Roof FAQs

  • Depending on the project, you will wait at least 2-3 months before we begin installing your Tesla Solar Roof. A smaller or more simple project may begin more quickly, but a larger or more complex project will take longer. Other factors such as weather, the availability of materials and permitting issues with your electric company may also slow down the project. Our suggestion is to contact us as soon as you can so we can schedule your project sooner rather than later.

  • Our quotes include materials, installation costs and connection to the electrical grid via your meter panel. Also, don’t forget the tax credit you'll receive on your Solar Roof (if applicable; please consult your tax advisor).

  • Installing solar panels in a home not only helps reduce current monthly utility bills but can also increase the home’s value compared to similar homes without solar panels. Factors contributing to this include:

    • Some communities allow solar producers to sell excess energy back to the grid

    • Reducing reliance on traditional energy sources

    • Reduction of carbon emissions

In addition, Tesla Solar Roof also brings several unique benefits to the table that other solar products lack, such as:

    • A clean, modern look

    • Tiles that meet Class Three standards for impact resistance, which may lower insurance premiums

    • Compatibility with other energy systems, including the Tesla Powerwall

A Tesla Solar Roof by Elliott Roofing is aesthetically pleasing, functional and a great investment in your home.

  • Your Tesla Solar Roof will be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to 26% of the total cost of the project. That total cost includes materials and installation. We will do our best to get you the best tax credit available for your Solar Roof, but we recommend close communication with your tax advisor to ensure maximum benefit and legality. This can also be applied to Powerwall installation when it is combined with a solar roof project.

  • It will take several weeks to finish your Tesla roof once we start on your home. Upon giving you a specific project quote, it is important to note that the timeframe we give you is only an estimate, as there are many factors outside of our control that can lengthen the time it takes to install the roof. Here are a few factors that may lengthen the installation timeframe of your Tesla Roof:

    • Severe weather (like ice, snow, and thunderstorms) slows down installation.

    • The local utility company must connect your new Solar Roof to the grid. The longer they take to do this, the slower your installation time.

    • Larger roofs take more time.

    • The number of permits we need will lengthen the installation time.

    • Steeper roofs or roofs with more complex designs take more time.

  • Elliott Roofing partners with Prosperity Bank to make several financing options available for your Tesla Solar Roof. Elliott and Prosperity are local, established businesses dedicated to helping property owners find home-improvement solutions that best suit their practical and financial needs. Ask your dedicated representative for more information.

  • The Telsa system is installed on typical sloped-roof designs with an ideal pitch ranging from 2-22 inches per foot with the best pitch ranging from 4-7. Tesla Solar Roof Systems are most effective when the roof has large, rectangular slopes with good north-facing exposure. Roof simplicity is key. A “busy” roof composed of numerous dormers, gables, accessories, and metal details is not an ideal candidate.

  • A Solar Roof repair is typically easy. Elliott Roofing’s service department can respond quickly and has access to a large inventory of spare parts available. We also make use of specialized hand tools that make the repair faster and easier.

  • Elliott Roofing proudly supplies Tesla Solar Roof systems to anywhere in the great state of Oklahoma!

  • Tesla Solar Roofs have the ability to power the majority of homes. Our team will work with you to research specific aspects of your home to ensure a Solar Roof will provide the right amount of power to it. Some of those factors are:

    Kilowatt Production

Kilowatt production is how much electricity your roof will need to produce to serve your home’s needs. More spacious homes with appliances that require more power, such as multiple HVAC units or hot tubs, need more kilowatts. Smaller homes with fewer appliances require less kilowatt production.

Elliott Roofing will begin our consultation with an energy analysis, so we'll know firsthand the necessary kilowatt production for your home. This will be based on as much information as you can supply. If you have the energy use over multiple years, we can create a representative average, but if you only have a single year’s usage in your records, we’ll work from that. The more information we have, the more accurate we can be when deciding how large a system you need while avoiding over-estimating the project on both monetary investment and power needs.

This information is available upon request from your energy company. If you have not lived in your home for at least a year, our team will work with you to learn your family’s plans for power usage in the home and build a system based on your intentions. If you are building a home and are considering a Tesla Solar Roof we cannot stress enough the importance of consulting with our team during the design phase. We can work with your architect and builder to help engineer the most optimal system.

    Roof Design

Different roofs result in different levels of solar capture. Roofs with a more complex design may need more photovoltaic tiles to maximize their solar exposure. Simple roofs will likely need fewer tiles. Our experts will do a detailed analysis to ensure you have the correct number of necessary photovoltaic tiles. In extreme cases, our experts may let us know that a Solar Roof isn’t an option for your home based on your power needs, the existing roof structure and the situational arrangement of your property.

    Energy Independence

People consider solar roofs for a variety of reasons, but the most prevalent is a lessened reliance on local power grids. Many communities prohibit their residents from total independence from the public utilities, but our goal is to obtain as much solar power as possible to ensure optimal energy production while considering local utility regulations.

One way many customers maximize their energy independence is by installing a Tesla Powerwall, an integrated battery system that stores your solar energy for backup protection. During power outages or when solar capture is more difficult, such as at night or on particularly cloudy days, Powerwall can fill the gap.

  • Investing in a Tesla Solar Roof and Powerwall is a gigantic step toward energy independence. However, when considering going entirely off-grid, you should consider the following:

Adequate Kilowatt Production (or Solar Capture)

If your roof is incapable of harnessing enough sunlight for your energy needs, then you cannot achieve your dream of energy independence. Elliott Roofing’s standard approach includes an audit of your home’s energy consumption to discover kilowatt production needs. During our consultation, our team will ascertain if the dimensions and orientation of your roof will fulfill the power required to run your home efficiently and effectively.

A Municipality or Utility Service That Allows Off-Grid Homes

Despite utilizing the right equipment at the proper level of energy production for your home, some municipalities require that you be connected to the energy grid. They may even limit the amount of electricity your roof is allowed to produce.

  • Tesla Roofs can produce enough energy to power virtually any size home or commercial facility.

Our team of professional Tesla Solar Roof installers will tailor the roof to meet the unique power needs of your home or business. The power produced by your roof is determined by the number of PV (photovoltaic) tiles required to fulfill your power usage needs. Each PV tile is capable of generating up to 72W of energy. The configuration of your roof will also influence how many tiles are needed.

Elliott Roofing will check your local municipality to ensure your roof meets any requirement on how many kilowatts it’s allowed to generate.

  • First, we’ll make the similarities clear. The kilowatt production for Solar Roofs and traditional solar panels is comparable. Both reduce your carbon footprint and can help you gain independence from the city grid.

How they differ is that traditional solar panels are fixtures installed onto your existing roof while Solar Roof is the roof. Rather than add-on PV tiles, the Solar Roof replaces shingles with PV tiles and non-functional tempered glass tiles. These tiles are extremely durable, and, since they’re integrated into the roof rather than bolted on, they give your home a sleek, modern look. Another added feature is that Solar Roof is already designed to integrate with products like Powerwall.

  • Your new roof is likely to be between 30 and 70% solar panels. We work with Tesla designers to optimize panel placement for unobstructed sunlight. This means prioritizing south-, east- and west-facing exposures.
